Post Manufacturing Partner - Installation, Training and Service

As a manufacturer of packaging machinery, much of the focus on the LPS website and even in conversations with packagers lies on the equipment that can be built, as well as the capabilities of the different machines. Understanding the needs of the packager and what equipment will best meet those needs are a top priority, and though post-production services will be discussed, they may not always be appreciated until the time comes that they are needed.

At Liquid Packaging Solutions, no packaging project simply ends at the delivery of the equipment. Post-production services such as installation, training and service may not always be necessary, depending on the equipment acquired and the level of experience of those working with the equipment, but the services are always available to ensure smooth, consistent and effective performance. For those new to packaging equipment, and especially automatic packaging lines, the install and training elements of the services can prove crucial in not only getting up and running, but continuing to run efficiently into the foreseeable future.

Oftentimes, the person or persons involved in the purchase of the equipment will not be the same individuals that will be running the equipment on a daily basis. In these circumstances, the installation and training helps to familiarize the actual operators of the equipment with the necessary knowledge to get the most out of the machinery and to operate the machinery safely and properly to avoid injury or unnecessary wear and tear. The install and training generally go hand in hand. Not only can operators learn how to properly set up and operate the equipment, but they will learn the basics of troubleshooting and what to look for if efficiency seems to wane. For example, many different packaging machines, from liquid fillers and bottle cappers right down to conveyor systems, will include wear parts. Wear parts are typically those parts that come in contact with bottles, caps, product or even other parts. The contact with other components will cause these parts wear over time and lose effectiveness. During the installation and training, operators can get an idea of what these parts are, from nozzle seals to spindles on a capping machine, learn how to set up the machine to get the most life out of these parts, which parts to keep on hand, and even how to replace them when they do wear over time.

Once the install and training is complete, LPS in no way expects operators to have knowledge of every possible circumstance that could arise with a machine. New bottles or products may be introduced, new operators could be hired, machinery may be moved or modified or simple unforeseen circumstances could cause issues with the performance of the equipment. This is why the LPS Service Department exists - to continue to partner with the packager long after the equipment is built, installed and technicians have left after training. Technicians are available for phone support to help tackle any issue, and to travel in those rare instances when more than simple guidance is necessary. In addition, the LPS service department includes a fully stocked parts room, allowing packagers to reach out for wear parts or any other component of a machine that might be necessary.

Providing installation, training and service in addition to designing and manufacturing packaging equipment hopefully gives our packagers peace of mind knowing they will be able to call the company that actually built the equipment for assistance in the future. To learn more about LPS equipment, browse the machinery by category on the LPS website or call the offices to speak with a Packaging Specialist about your specific project today.
